Malaiwali Pyaaz ki Subzi

This is the kind of dish I like to make when i am in a rush or the pantry supplies are running a bit low.But that does not take away from the fact that it is a super yummy dish!

Also the fact that it requires minimum ingredients and even less effort but still delicious, makes it a easy favourite for all the young people on the move.

For the tadka-

Method

  1. Heat the oil. Add mustard and allow to splutter.Then immediately add the hing, jeera, bay leaves, whole elaichi, green chillies and grated ginger. fry fo1/2 a min.
  2. Add the onions and cook on medium flame for 3-4 mins.
  3. Add the tomato puree if you using the tomato.Cook for a couple of mins.
  4. Add the masalas - haldi, dhania and jeera powder, chilli powder, garam masala, amchoor and salt and saute on high flamefor a couple of mins.
  5. Add the cream. Crush the kasoori methi between your palms to release the aroma and add to the subzi and cook for another minute.
  6. The Malaiwali Pyaaz ki Subzi ready to be served.
  7. It’s great accompaniment to Dal- Chawal, Phulkas, Paranthas…whatever..
  8. Also, if you are missing one or two spices don’t worry about it. It will still taste superb.
